How It is Being Made

A rubber diaphragm is a flexible membrane that seals two compartments or chambers. It is made of natural or synthetic rubber and is used in various applications, such as pumps, valves, and compressors.

• The first step in making a rubber diaphragm is to create a mold of the desired shape and size.
• Once the mold is created, it is filled with liquid latex rubber. The latex rubber is then cured or hardened using heat or ultraviolet light.
• After the latex rubber has cured, it is trimmed to the desired shape and size. 
• The final step is to coat the rubber diaphragm with a thin layer of silicone oil. This gives the diaphragm flexibility and makes it resistant to tearing.

EPDM – is a copolymer of ethylene and propylene, and it is used in various applications due to its excellent resistance to heat, ozone, and weathering. The main advantage of using an EPDM rubber diaphragm is its ability to provide a durable and reliable seal.

Nitrile Rubber – A diaphragm made from nitrile rubber is perfect for use in environments with petroleum products or other chemicals, as it is resistant to these materials. Nitrile rubber diaphragms can withstand high temperatures and pressures, making them suitable for various industrial applications. 

Butyl Rubber  – is a good choice for many applications because it has excellent impermeability to gases, good resistance to ozone and weathering, and low-temperature flexibility. It also has good electrical insulating properties. Butyl rubber diaphragms can be made with either smooth or textured surfaces.
