Rubber Gasket
Product Description
We built a solid foundation for molding a cost-effective and ultra-durable customized rubber product, including rubber gaskets & seals. Many gaskets are available today, like metal, iron, rubber, and plastic gaskets. However, the rubber gasket is the leading one due to its advantages in numerous applications, including the wide selection of materials and customizability. Therefore, you can choose high-quality rubber raw materials to suit your needs compared to the metal gaskets with limitations. We can make various kinds of rubber gaskets using natural rubber, butyl, neoprene, nitrile, silicone, and other high-grade materials according to your requirements. Please contact our team for custom shapes, design, thickness, hardness, and additional information regarding custom gaskets.
History
A gasket is a type of seal used in the construction industry to provide a watertight seal between moving parts. The word “gasket” may also refer to any seal that creates a watertight connection. The first gaskets were used in ancient Egypt and Greece. The Roman Empire was where people first used sealants in their wine jars to prevent leaking oil. The rubber gasket has a long and textured history. Though the exact origins are unknown, rubber gaskets have been used for centuries in various applications. One of the first known uses was in fire hoses during the 1800s. Rubber gaskets were also commonly used in automotive engines to prevent oil leakage. Today, rubber gaskets are still widely used in various industries, including automotive, aerospace, and construction.
Common Types of Rubber Gaskets
Choosing the right rubber gasket for your application can be confusing. There are many different types of gaskets available, and each has its own set of benefits and drawbacks. To select the right gasket for your needs, you first need to understand the different types of gaskets and their applications.
- O-rings are the most common type of rubber gasket. They are used in various applications, from automotive engines to medical devices.
- A toroidal seal, or doughnut-shaped seal, is used to create a watertight seal between two surfaces. It is often used in plumbing applications.
- An X-ring is similar to an O-ring, but it has a cross-section like the letter “X”. It is commonly used in mechanical engineering applications.
- A V-ring is similar to an X-ring, but it has a V-shaped cross-section instead of an X-shape. It is used similarly as a double-loop O-ring but with less friction and higher temperature limits.
- An E-ring is similar to an X-ring, but it has a circular cross-section instead of an X-shape. It is commonly used in mechanical engineering applications. The E-ring connects two parallel shafts with an angle between them so that the shafts are not in line but at an angle.
Manufacturing Process
Rubber gaskets are used in various applications, from automotive to construction. The manufacturing process of rubber gaskets is a complex one, but the final product is worth it. The first step is to create the mold to make a rubber gasket. This can be done using various methods, but the most common is to use a CNC machine. The CNC machine will carve out the shape of the gasket from a block of rubber. Once the mold is created, the next step is to injection mold the rubber. This is done by heating the rubber and injecting it into the mold. The rubber will then cool and harden, creating the gasket.
Features of Rubber Gasket
- High-quality rubber materials to maximize its sealing capabilities
- Cost-effective; because we use the suitable materials to based on your environment and applications
- Ultra-durable; will undergo an intense design process and testing so that the gasket will last longer.
- Very flexible, and it will work at low and high temperatures.
- Outstanding resistance to chemicals
- It has excellent shear and tears resistance, especially for the SBR-made gaskets.
